After reading the reviews for this film I almost didn't want to see it, but I finally got around to it tonight. In the movie as soon as they started getting to the good stuff I immediately wondered what people in death guild think about this. There is a scene involving fire spinning, mad max costumes combined with tartans, great machines covered in spikes and blades, and mayhem. I'd love to see something like that scene recreated at this year's burn, minus the cannibalism.
Somehow this movie also managed to work in a rather authentic medieval city with somewhat apocalyptic knights on horseback. And that part actually made some sense. Sure the movie has some plot holes and relies on some suspension of disbelief, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Is anyone else inspired by it to create some new costumes and works?

Thu, April 24, 2008 - 10:42 PMthis movie inspired me to make a whole line of costumes. im starting with mostly materials made from scrounged motorcycle tire, bolts, and various bits i find at the pick and pull. this wouldnt be the first movie inspiring this. blood of heroes, mad max trilogy, even demolition man. if anyone is interested in collaborating let me know. ive made a few tire vests and they look awesome. they just take alot of time and more than one person to craft.
